Wedding Announcement

For the last several months we've been trying to decide where we should get married. There's so many beautiful places that you can get married. And for us, the decision was made even harder by the fact that our friends and families are scattered across multiple States and multiple continents.

In the end we decided that the location of the ceremony had to be reflective of *us* as its a celebration of our lives, our commitment and our love.

So the question became, what defined us - and what did we want in a ceremony. We were faced with the challenge of being able to find a place that incorporated our taste for minimalist beauty, exotic sceneries, romantic settings and unique charm.

After considering the UK, Greece, Dallas, Houston, Mexico and other various locations it became a pretty easy decision - we wanted to get married in Paradise. The Bahamas.

We will be getting married on Saturday, July 5th, 2008 at 4PM in Nassau, Bahamas at the Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort, on a tiny little offshore island. We would be honored to have you join us in celebrating our marriage, the most important occasion of our lives.

Here's a short write up on the resort from the Sandals website.
Sandals Royal Bahamian, winner of the prestigious Five Star Diamond Award, stands alone as the premier destination for couples who demand only the very best. From our offshore island - a veritable resort within a resort - to world-class dining in 8 gourmet restaurants; from rooms and suites, ranging from the merely sumptuous to the over-the-top lavish, to Versailles - like gardens filled with stunning statuary - you'll know, beyond a doubt, that you've discovered paradise.

If you haven’t yet, please take the time to send us your mailing address so that we may send a formal invitation.

If you’d like to come, please let us know and we'll get you more info on the resort and flights.

engagement day!

M- We woke up at 4am to get to the airport on time. We started with a flight from DFW Airport to San Juan, Puerto Rico on AA.

E- We make a stop in beautiful Puerto Rico, wander out to make the best of our 4 hour lay over. We ate a fabulous Puerto Rican restaurant named Metropol and ofcourse washed down the tasty plantain lobster dish with Mojitos.

E- Throughout our trip we met a lot of couples that heading our way. They were all lovely couples- funny, young professionals and all celebrating their recent marriages. Great. Just married..."congratulations" we say to the ecstatic young couples. "And you?" they ask "what are you celebrating?" Oh we say, we are just vacationing. Sigh.

M- Our connecting flight from Puerto Rico to St Lucia was on a large turbo prop plane - and Ealleen sat right next to the propeller. When we arrived in St Lucia we went straight to Sandals where we had our first inclusive meal at the Pavillion.

E- Our engagement was a complete surprise to me!!!! I had no idea what Mo was planning, as far as I was concerned, Mo was not ready to propose. He did well:)

E- In our room we laid taking in our day. We chat about the places we had been, the food we ate, the things we saw and the people we met. I am happy and exhausted. I think to myself of how incredibly lucky I am to be with such a wonderful man. We start talking about how everyone in the resort seemed to be recently wed. I try to pull back the tears from eyes. I am happy for them, I just wish the same kind of happiness for myself. As I was expressing to Mo how much I love him and wish we spend the rest of our lives together, he pulled out a white box from his bag. A small square white box, he taunts my teary wide eyes with it. He opens the box, in it is the most spectacular diamond ring! He asked me to marry him. He asked me to marry him!

E- I am the happiest women on earth. I plan to continue to make Mo happy-even happier. I want to be the best possible wife.
